"Night to His Day" The Social Construction of Gender talks about the different ways we are socialized based on gender. If men do something that is particularly seen as a job a women would do the man will be gendered simply by the silent feed back he gets from the people around him. For example a man pushing a strolling or taking care of a child in public. But its not just the adult being gendered its the child as well. We are gendered even when we are baby's being giving certain color clothing and certain patterns to establish ones sex. Its true as the article says that men do have more power than men, it seems to have always been this way. It has changed but still over all men come out on top.

"Beyond black and white" and "Race Matters" where both intriguing articles that said things I can relate to an have noticed myself throughout life. Beyond black and white made many good points about how in society that the number of multiracial people is increasing and how it may affect the way we think and the changes that occur in the profiling system. Also Race Matters should me the many different ways we are classified by the race we belong to and why it matters to be in that race or class. (even though it shouldn't matter) All of the statements in these articles remind me of how I feel as a multiracial citizen. Sometimes I feel like Im accepted by everybody while other times I feel like nobody wants me around. Im beginning to see the changes in diversity and the amount of multiracial people that surround me. Each day the numbers grow but unfortunately racism will always be there in one way or another. Everyday I wish it would go away, I plan to do all I can to get rid of it even though a part of me knows its probably impossible.

People like us spoke about the different ways people are classified in society. Its all based on money race your occupation and your up bringing. The video was saying how we all belong to different groups and some of us may not even realize it while others may try to ignore it. Sometimes we may move up or down in society making a role exit to something else better or worse. Society should not judge who we are and what class we are in but, according to this video it does.

Poverty is every where and this article mentions how we deal with it an how the different people dealing with poverty grow in society how it affects an labels them. People can be considered to be in poverty for many different reasons according to the article. Capitalism has a major role in the poverty that takes place through out society. Many people that are poor seem to stay poor while the rich getting richer there are beliefs that there will be no middle class. Sometimes people can make a change to get out of poverty but it depends on the person an there ambitions, its not always the norms and laws that cause people to be in poverty.

Following all the rules isn't always easy, along with the different norms and morals as well. Deviance is bound to happen, as they say rules are made to be broken. We all break rules here and there its part of our human nature. Going through a red light is one common example of deviance that can be done on purpose or on accident. This world isn't perfect so deviance will always be relevant.

Killing us softly was about the different ways women are exposed in society. Through out the years it has not changed much how a women is seen. Advertisements are the main victim to blame for the way women are portrayed. For years women have been shown as objects, sex tool, animals, and anything that makes them seem like there less of a human not superior to men. The advertisements shown in this video are everywhere an always have a double meaning or some kind of hidden message. This video also talks about how advertisements show what the ideal attractive women should look like and how for years some many women try to be that. According to this video when it comes to women for almost anything looks come first.

A call to men spoke about the morals of an average man in todays society. How men must be tough and strong to never show there emotions. Also how men are suppose be superior to women and fearless. Porter spoke about how we have to teach our sons that its ok to express  our emotions and that women are equal to us. That having power is not everything an women are to be respected as we want to be. We shouldn't  think that if we are called a girl that its the end of the world. Women should not be seen as such  weak. Porter mentions the idea of the man box and how a real man should not be tied to these boundaries and not let it affect the way a man acts and lives in his everyday life.

These to videos relate to the chapter on socialization because it talks about how men and women are affected by the basic norms in todays society. How men and women are seen as to different things and culture creates this way of seeing men and women through different advertisements. Also the different morals we are taught as children and even when we are older can affect how we think and are seen. The chapters talk about how we are viewed differently based on race, sex and culture and these to video's are a perfect example on how that takes affect.

The fascinating thing about society is that it continues to change in many different ways everyday. We as individuals also change each day even though we might not notice. The interactions we make with other people can have an effect on how we act in our everyday lives. Sometimes we may say different things just because we are with different people. Half of the things I say with my friends I would never say around my parents. Why do we do it? Its all part of our morals and our up bringing.
